Goldie F. Yoffe
Goldie F. Yoffe, 93, of Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010, in the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg. She was born on March 21, 1916 in Puxsutawney, PA, to the late Pincus and Esther (Bernstein) Friedman. She was a former member of Beth El Temple and Temple Ohev Shalom, both of Harrisburg; of the Harrisburg Bridge Club; and of B'nai B'rith. She was a member of Blue Ridge Country Club, Hadassah, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Harrisburg Area Dental Assoc. Goldie was an avid golfer, card/mahjong player, and an excellent cook who was well-known for her chocoloate fudge. She was the widow of Dr. Samuel H. Yoffe. Surviving are her son, John A. Yoffe, and his wife Jody, of Harrisburg; a daughter, Jo Ann Rifkin, and her husband Bruce, of Bellwvue, WA; 6 grandchildren: Timi, Shawna, Jordan, Kaylee, Brian, and Jeremy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Edward Friedman, Ben Friedman, Lew Friedman, and George Friedman; and 3 sisters: Rose Kramer, Lil Friedman, and Evelyn Adelson. Funeral servives will be held at 2 pm on Monday, March 1, 2010, in the Chapel of Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbu Eric Crytryn officiating. Burial will be in beth El Cemetery.
